I just love summer rains in East Texas. Imagine the smell of wet pine trees, the sound of thunder, and the wind blowing across the lake. Ah,,,,
I took these photos a couple of weeks ago at our lake house. If you're in Texas, I hope they make you feel 'cool'. We've had temperatures over 100 degrees for several days now and I wish it would rain!
Wouldn't you just love to go stand out there and let it pour down on you?
Check out the huge dark cloud here. I was in Tyler before the storm. NO I was not at the municipal court, just in the parking lot next to Salvation Army Store. Got a couple of cute things there before I hit the road to head back to lake house before the sky fell.
Home, safe and sound, sitting on the back porch with a glass of wine and a good book and watching it pour~
Room with a view.
Check out this sign I bought at First Monday awhile back. It says 'A great fisherman lives here with the catch of his life. Well, Douglas is Not a fisherman, but I AM the catch of his life. (hee)
Stay cool and have a nice weekend.
Wow...that's a lot of wine...in the room with a view...lol...what !? Doug...NOT a fisherman...and has a boat...and a lake house...I really miss our Bass Tracker...but not many lakes where we live...Tim takes the boys to the Rockies to glacier lakes...in the base of the Rockies...to trout fish now...soooo our freezer stays stocked with beautiful trout. But...I'm still wishing...we'd not sold our awesome boat.
