Wow! I struck gold at some thrift stores in Tyler this weekend. You may think I went a little crazy with the shoe purchases, but when you see the prices you'll understand.
I found these Cole Haan loafers at the Goodwill Store in Tyler for $3.99. They're not scuffed, and the heels are not even worn down and they were just my size! I bought some shoe polish and shined them up now they look brand new. I went to the Cole Haan website and found these almost identical shoes for $99.00
These animal print mules were also $3.99 at the Goodwill Store in Tyler. Again, they look like they were barely worn. I had to have them.
Check out these Salvatore Ferragamo pumps I bought there for $3.99. I just went online and found an identical pair at Nordstrom's website and they are priced at $440.00! Unbelievable! Here's the website for Nordstrom's. These are a tad bit too large for me, but I don't care! They are gorgeous!
My next great find was this practically new Dooney & Burke purse. Again,,,$3.99. I couldn't leave it behind.
My next stop in Tyler was a consignment store called Hand Me Ups. The prices were a little higher of course, but still, I got great deals, like these 'Spot On' heels. I'm not familiar with the brand at all, but they were very comfortable and I needed a pair of black heels for work. Cost: $5.99. Kinda crazy that they cost more than the Cole Haan shoes and the Ferragamo pumps.
Just down the road was another consignment shop called 'My Sister's Closet'. They were having a summer clearance sale so I got these Amanda Smith slip-on sandals for $6.00.
I also found these really cute Beverly Feldman boots. I can't imagine how much these were originally. I'm sure at least $300+. Mine for $20. I hesitated on these and almost put them back, but I was already on a roll on my shoe buying spree, so I just thought 'why not?' They need a little polish and then I'm positive they will look next to new.
I purchased these shoes on Thursday on my way to East Texas at the Goodwill Store off Interstate 30. Liz Claiborne and only $3.99. Again, just my size and don't they look brand new?
FINALLY, I'm really not sure why I purchased these Ralph Lauren clogs, but the leather was just so soft and the shoes were so comfortable. I'll have to be careful wearing these. They are pretty high platforms, and I have a reputation for breaking bones in my feet. I think these shoes are worth the risk. I'm going to take these in to a local shoe repair place to have the tiny little nails inside replaced. Some of them are coming out, which is probably why they were donated. Just a minor adjustment and a little cleaning, and they will be like new.
Anyway....I got a little carried away don't ya think? However... if you add it all up, you probably couldn't buy one pair of NEW shoes for the price I paid for all of the above. Is that 'justification' or what?
Enjoy your week!
