Hula-hoopin'

I was at a Goodwill store not long ago and saw a little girl walking around with a hula hoop she had found in the toy section of the store.  Suddenly I had the urge to own a hula-hoop, and when I discovered it was 'one of a kind' in the store that day, I headed over to Target and paid a ridiculous price of $12 for a brand new one.  (OK,,price is relative, but it was probably only 50 cents at Goodwill....)  ANYWAY,,,I've made the hula-hoop a part of my daily exercise regime.  Believe it or not, it really is a good workout and it's so fun!  After I get off my treadmill, I just have my radio blasting and I make my self 'hula' to the tempo of the song that is playing.  You have to make yourself hula each direction to work both sides of the waist.

I'm having so much fun with it.  I remember when I was a kid, we had the small hula-hoops that you could twirl on your arms.  If I find those, I'm buying them.  If you've seen them somewhere, let me know where they are.  Remember doing both arms and the waist at the same time??  I'm not sure I'm that coordinated anymore.

Check out this cool fish necklace I found at an antique store..  It is hinged and has a wiggly motion to it.  I love it...

I found this wrap-around skirt at the Salvation Army store in Dallas.  It is brand new and even the slits where the sash feed through had not even been cut open yet.  I always wonder how stuff like this makes it to a donation center. Oh well,,,,I won't give it a second thought.  The skirt is mine now.

Heading to East Texas tomorrow and hope to hit some thrift stores again on my way to First Monday.  I'm taking my camera with me to hopefully get some fun shots along the way.  Happy Easter everyone!!!
